For the past 40 days i have been raising money via kickstarter to turn my college storybook into a short film, and today the fundraiser ended and we reached our goal!! And i want to thank you my amazing donors.

The next step to make this puppy actually happen. That means myself and my crew will need to actually film live action segments for the film, we will need to record the actors voicing the characters, set up backgrounds and begin animation. This is a two year long endeavor so i ask for your patience. Check back on this site periodically for more information including, interviews, videos, sound bites, sneak peaks and more.

You can also hear an interview i did with the prestigious Pixar Podcast here!

Thank you for helping Moon Bear get to his feet. Now it is my job to deliver. Stay tuned!

In this weeks episode I have a chat with William Jardine, leader of the A113Animation bog and we discuss all the up and coming animated films hitting theaters in 2013.

The original audio was corrupted, so enjoy this new podcast experience as Williams voice is crystal clear and my voice is computerized. Should be fun!

A Prize for Who Gets Up Over $1,000

You read that right. To the lucky person who donates and gets us over that $1,000 mark will get their very own name hidden somewhere interesting in the Moon Bear Short Film. So imagine, you’re sitting there eating a snack, watching the short and all of a sudden you see your name scribed onto the side of a tree, or a butterfly flies by with your name on its wing. Anything!

So keep sharing! If you haven’t donated yet but have seen all of these posts, you should know how serious we are about making this short a great one! Take out that credit card and give a dollar, who knows, you just might see yourself in this movie!

I’m Making An Animated Short Film

This Week I’ve Launched a New Fundraiser to Get This Story Animated!

Hello Podcast Listeners

As you may heard me say on the podcast before I am an enormous fan of animation, thats Disney, Pixar, Cartoon Network, all of those mind blowing animated companies. So it probably comes as no surprise to you that i plan to direct animated features in the future. As a paying job! Thats right, ever since in college where i learned how animation was made, i’ve wanted to make one of my very own. It’s so neat!

Well, now I’m giving myself that chance! I’m revamping a 29 page children’s book i wrote and illustrated in college called Moon Bear, giving it a make-over, and flipping it around into a fully colored hand drawn animated short film!

This week, I launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise the funding necessary for this rather long animated endeavor. And boy am I excited about it! With your help and the help of our friends and family we can raise our goal in only a month!

Click HERE to see the campaign video and read more including pictures, music and glorious prizes.

And remember, Check back on the weekend for another great episode of The Scotty Jo Podcast
